Joe Peterson

     Joe Peterson, the owner of Independent Appraisals, has over 10 years of experience appraising residential real estate throughout Washington State. Born in southwest Washington and raised in northwest Washington, Joe spent his youth hiking and camping all over our beautiful state. He studied Political Science with an emphasis on Economics and International Relations, earning a BA from Central Washington University and an MA from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. After college he worked building databases and assisting doctors and administrators with their research at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

     Joe's interest in real estate led him to a career as a real estate appraiser. Over the years he has appraised multi-million dollar, waterfront properties in the San Juan Islands to the smallest cabin on Snoqualmie Pass. The variety and the challenge of each appraisal is what makes his job so interesting. And his experience in providing values, testifying in court, and answering questions from various clients will provide you a sense of calm professionalism during your purchase, refinance, estate settlement, divorce, or any other valuation need.
